KENYON – In a defensive battle from the start, it was the Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity Bulldogs who made the big play which fittingly came virtue of the defense.
With just under five minutes to go, Kobe Sanders returned a fumble 80-yard for the go-ahed touchdown as the Bulldogs improved to 5-1 on the season with an impressive road win.
The Bulldogs are back in action Friday, Oct. 13 when they host Bethlehem Academy for their second homecoming game of the season.
MAYER LUTHERAN 14, BETHLEHEM ACADEMY 7
FARIBAULT – The Mayer Lutheran football team clinched at least a share of the district title with their 14-7 win against Bethlehem Academy. Along with the win, it was coach Dean Aurich’s 200th career win.
Junior Quarterback Baden Noennig stayed hot for the Crusaders with a pair of touchdown passes to lead the way.
The Crusaders are back in action Friday, Oct. 13 at Blooming Prairie.

LITCHFIELD 21, WATERTOWN-MAYER 20
WATERTOWN – It what was likely their last home game of the season, the Watertown-Mayer football team suffered a heartbreaking defeat in their 21-20 loss to Litchfield.
A 2-yard run from Litchfield’s T Meyer midway through the fourth gave the Dragons the edge, and they held on down the stretch for the win.
The Royals are back in action Friday, Oct. 13 at Milaca.

HOWARD LAKE – A nice start quickly got away from the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted football team in a 52-7 loss to Pierz Friday night.
After Brennan Barth’s 16-yard touchdown run gave the Lakers a lead, the third-ranked Pioneers answered back with 46 unanswered points to keep their perfect record intact.
Along with the loss, the Lakers also lost running back and linebacker Connor Huston in the third quarter. Huston went down with an apparent ankle injury, and missed the rest of the game.
The Lakers are back in action Friday, Oct. 13 when they host Eden Valley-Watkins in their final home game of the season.
